I really like this piece, it's very understated and emotionally revealing. The term selfhug seems to imply the administering of self comfort, but looking at the way the nails are extended and curling into the flesh would indicate an ambivalence towards the self, that also shows in the small amount of space that the self takes up in the picture.

You're welcome. It was just my interpretation of course, and may be wide of the mark, only you can know that. Sometimes an objective eye can see more in our work than we realised we were putting into it, and that may be especially true when we are making art that has a deliberate psychological element.

Creativity has an amazing effect on us. I over intellectualize in real life, its like my work goes beyond that, I dont fully realize what Im doing, I find out afters and if other peoples input is part of it all the better, Ive managed to reach out somehow. Like I was affected by your image.
Im not a Great Artiste or anything, its just therapy. And fun.
